Project Description

“Genesis House for Homeless Moms and Kids”

California Home Builders was excited to partner with HomeAid Los Angeles and Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission to lead a complete construction remodel of a 9 Bedroom property serving homeless moms with children in the San Fernando Valley. The Genesis House opened in July 2013 and hosts up to 9 homeless families in a transitional program to get them back on their feet.  This is the only shelter in the San Fernando Valley that is for women with their children. The 3,750 sq. ft home is a dream come true for moms and children seeking a fresh start and freedom from being homeless.
We partnered with our vendors to create a home for the less fortunate in our community. When we visited the home recently and delivered toys for the home and the kids who reside in the house, we saw first hand, how giving back to the community makes a difference in the lives of many. We believe that the way to repair the world is by doing something for someone.
