Homes Selling At The Speed Of Light
A new-home community in Pacoima is selling quickly thanks in part to the builder offering solar power systems as a standard feature, according to an article in today’s L.A. Daily News.
The project, called The Village at Pierce, consists of 57 Spanish-styled homes and is being built by Canoga Park-based California Home Builders. It’s the first residential project in the City of Los Angeles where each home will be equipped with a solar energy system as a standard feature.
Here’s what Shawn Evenhaim, president and founder of the company, had to say about the development:
This new project is exactly what our buyers are looking for — smaller, more energy-efficient homes with creative design at an affordable price.
California Home Builders came up with a different twist on making their solar power systems more affordable. The panels come at no extra charge to the homebuyer. Instead, a company called Sunrun will own and maintain the systems and charge the buyer just $49 a month, helping them save immediately on their electric bills.
The company is holding a media event today to formally open the development. Among the invited attendees: L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Holly Schroeder, CEO of BIASC’s L.A./Ventura Chapter.
